Web 3.0
"Semantic Web", "Intelligent Web", "3D Web" these are couple of names given to the next generation of web i.e. web 3.0
To make is simple, I can say a web with a structured format, to read and write and communicate across different websites, websites understanding user activity and serving better with hell a lot of 3D graphics.
Web 3.0 is a envisioned previewing the current transformation of the web.
Some transformations I have seen are below:
Adding of Meta Tag's for SEO is almost standardized in most of the web. These new standards had made search engines to read, recognize and categorize major quantity of web. Usage of API's/XML will transform it with much higher standards for communicating with external apps.
The Auto-complete AJAX method on the current Google page and even in most of the websites gives our suggestions based on initial input.
No wonder if Google comes up with a product which uses the information of its current users and provides "Tip of the Day" based on his current email discussions.
There is a heavy research going on everywhere about how to implement Speech Recognition into the Web.
There is already a mechanism of reading and writing into twitter, Blogs, RSS Feeds and Burners which proves the read, write and execute capabilites. And not forget delicious, technorati and other web tools which has created a classification of content into Tags.
(What pities me is some websites like www.99acres.com & www.magicbricks.com do not even an RSS feeds.)
www.yoowalk.com a 3D based websites which is an one step ahead of lively by Google (currently switched off). This is an amazing application which has tried transformation the a simple chat into a great visual experienced chat with a theme to "Walk around the Web" while you chat.
www.webwars.com EVE another 3D based Online games site which (currently they have disabled, i guess planning to launch with a blast) Still you can check out more details at http://www.program-ace.com/web/success_stories/eve-web-wars/ This the most innovative idea I have ever come across in my life. The theme of the game is to conquer territory and the
territory here is website. The territory has point/value based on the current real rank of the site. The top territory is off course Google, so we the mission would be to conquer major territories, add up force and attack on the next territory till we hit the Queen.
Another segment of Web 3.0 is extensive mobile integration which is already happen seeing the flooding of IPhone apps and other mobile OS like Andriod.
I am still curious to see the most amazing venture like Google coming out of Web 3.0.
